Cork Shine

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

1. Who we are

Cork Shine is a residential cleaning service based in Glanmire, Cork, Ireland. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Cork Shine. We are the data controller for the personal information described here, which means we decide how and why it is used.

We respect your privacy and handle your information in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.

2. Information we collect

When you request a quote or booking through our website, we collect:

  • your full name, email address and phone number;
  • your property area or Eircode, property type and number of bedrooms;
  • the cleaning service, frequency and any extras you select;
  • your preferred date and time, and any additional information you choose to give us.

If you become a customer, we may also keep records of appointments, the agreed price, payments, access arrangements you share with us (for example key collection details), and our communications with you.

Please don't include sensitive information (such as health details) in the form unless it is needed for us to carry out the clean safely.

3. How we use your information

  • to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote;
  • to confirm availability, the agreed price and appointment details;
  • to carry out and manage the cleaning service you book;
  • to contact you about your booking, including changes or follow-up questions;
  • to keep business, accounting and tax records as required by law;
  • to deal with any questions, complaints or disputes.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have separately agreed to that. We do not make decisions about you using automated means.

4. Our legal basis

  • Taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing a contract — responding to your enquiry and providing the service you book.
  • Legal obligation — keeping financial and tax records.
  • Legitimate interests — running our business properly, keeping records of our communications, and handling complaints or legal claims.

5. Who we share it with

We share your information only where needed, with trusted service providers that help us run the business, such as:

  • our website hosting and secure database provider, which stores the requests submitted through this site;
  • our email provider (Google), which we use to receive and answer enquiries.

These providers act on our instructions and are required to keep your information secure. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where this happens, appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses are in place.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months.
  • Customer and booking records are kept for up to 6 years after our last service, to meet tax and accounting requirements.

After that, information is securely deleted.

7. Keeping it secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections on this website and access-restricted storage. Only people who need your details to provide our service can see them.

8. Your rights

Under data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
  • ask for your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

Contact us using the details below to exercise any of these rights. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28 — www.dataprotection.ie. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.

9. Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores one small note in your browser to remember that you have closed our offers pop-up, so it doesn't appear again. It contains no personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
